Job Overview

The Customer Service Associate is a vital part of the Timber Pizza Company Annapolis experience, serving as the initial point of contact for patrons entering the establishment. This role is essential in ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and well-cared for. The Customer Service Associate is tasked with greeting all visitors warmly, guiding first-time guests through the process, welcoming back familiar faces, and accurately processing orders and payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Punctually arrive for shifts dressed in appropriate work attire.
  • Complete opening tasks to ensure the front of house is well-stocked, organized, and clean for service.
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously, providing them with menus.
  • Identify new guests and clearly explain the seating and ordering procedures.
  • Build rapport with returning guests by remembering their names and usual orders.
  • Respond to guest inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Make suggestions to enhance the guest experience when suitable.
  • Accurately take and enter guest orders into the system.
  • Process cash and credit card transactions efficiently.
  • Express gratitude to guests upon their departure.
  • Answer phone calls when possible.
  • Handle and ring up takeout orders.
  • Maintain an organized counter and ensure menus are stocked throughout the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to provide a seamless guest experience.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Follow established protocols for managing service breakdowns and guest complaints.
  • Responsible for ringing alcohol in compliance with legal standards and company policies.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards during the shift.
  • Complete closing tasks to ensure the front of house is properly shut down at the end of service.
  • Perform assigned side work duties.
  • May be required to complete deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Passion for hospitality and serving others.
  • High energy and stamina; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in using technology for order entry and payment processing.
  • Able to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform essential functions in accordance with company standards with reasonable accommodation.
  • Effective communication skills in the primary language of the workplace.
