Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Production Fabrication Supervisor is tasked with the strategic planning, organization, direction, coordination, and oversight of all operations within the Fabrication Division. This role is pivotal in ensuring that departmental objectives align with the broader business strategy, fostering sustained growth and optimal profitability. The Supervisor will also take on project leadership responsibilities, collaborating closely with subordinate Cabinet Makers.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Departmental Leadership:

  • Supervise all staff within the Fabrication Division, encompassing fabrication, finishing, metalwork, acrylic processing, preservation, interactive elements, and audiovisual components.
  • Oversee the entire production workflow, ensuring compliance with timelines and project deadlines.
  • Work in tandem with Project Managers to identify and resolve any project-related delays.
  • Manage and oversee cost centers in collaboration with Team Leads and Project Managers to prevent budget overruns.

2. Production Management:

  • Monitor production tickets from inception to completion, ensuring all fabricated components adhere to the defined scope of work.
  • Conduct both interim and final quality inspections of all fabricated items during the production phase and prior to delivery.
  • Delegate specific production tasks to personnel in conjunction with Team Leads.
  • Suggest and implement innovative production strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.

3. Project Leadership:

  • Direct projects on the shop floor, adhering to work tickets and ensuring production targets are achieved.
  • Act as a lead cabinetmaker on projects, providing guidance and focus to junior staff.

4. Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to VOSH (OSHA) regulations and company-wide safety protocols.
  • Guarantee that all fabrication personnel receive initial orientation and ongoing training, with regular performance evaluations.
  • Supervise the upkeep of fabrication spaces, equipment, and preventive maintenance schedules.

5. Tool and Equipment Oversight:

  • Monitor company tools utilized off-site for installation tasks.
  • Ensure that production facilities operate according to schedule, with a minimum of two employees present during working hours.

6. Leadership and Development:

  • Provide technical guidance and training to fabrication staff as needed.
  • Assess and ensure the competency of all team members, offering training as required.
  • Encourage teamwork and maintain high levels of morale, motivation, and communication within the division.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong computer literacy with Windows-based applications.
  • Familiarity with IOS or Android applications and their usability.
  • Expertise in cabinetmaking, woodworking, laminating, finishing, and electrical installations.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication tools and shop equipment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Leadership capabilities with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in a production environment with a focus on safety training and awareness.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, and stoop as necessary.

Performance Metrics:

  • Ability to meet project timelines, labor budgets, and deliverables.
  • Maintenance of fabrication areas and equipment.
  • Punctuality and reliability in completing tasks.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Ensuring the competence of team members and providing necessary training.
  • Meeting product quality standards as outlined in project contracts.
  • Fostering teamwork to address challenges.
