Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The main role of this position is to market and sell service agreements for commercial building systems, which encompass fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler, security, sound, communication, and inspection services. Identify client needs and formulate sales strategies to achieve those goals. Successfully close sales to meet designated sales targets. Foster a positive and ongoing relationship with clients. Maintain an active proposal backlog that aligns with the sales strategy. Conduct thorough building assessments to aid in the preparation of estimates.

Sales Approach

  • Initiate contact with potential clients and assess their suitability for service contracts through scheduled sales meetings, follow-ups on leads, and the implementation of established marketing strategies.
  • Identify client requirements and create a tailored sales strategy to enhance their understanding of the company's service offerings.
  • Achieve sales targets by effectively closing deals.
  • Keep an active proposal backlog that supports the overall sales strategy.
  • Perform building surveys to assist in the development of accurate estimates.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all sales activities.
  • Timely submission of all required sales reports, expense reports, competitive intelligence, and correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure that Johnson Controls meets their needs, fostering long-term loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the service department to generate leads for service upgrades or equipment enhancements.
  • Carry out additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1 to 3 years of sales experience in a related field with a proven track record of success.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to persuade and close sales effectively.
  • Capability to manage a variety of situations encountered during the sales process.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle diverse situations and maintain discipline in a self-directed work environment.

Preferred:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred.
