Position Overview

The Policy and Research division at OATS is dedicated to shaping and communicating public policies, alongside conducting research and generating insights that are crucial for individuals aged 50 and above.

The Policy & Research Manager, Longevity Economy will be instrumental in establishing OATS as a premier authority on the economic contributions of the 50+ demographic. This role will emphasize the necessity of creating age-inclusive societies and will highlight the repercussions of neglecting various forms of discrimination. The individual will be pivotal in enhancing OATS's understanding of the expansive potential and influence of the 50+ market as we strive for a just future where individuals can lead longer and healthier lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on critical issues relevant to the organization. Engage in discussions at roundtables, forums, and collaborative groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint the organization's public policy priorities and stances. Cultivate and utilize external partnerships to achieve objectives.
  • Evaluate federal and state legislative and regulatory proposals, providing unbiased policy analysis to guide national and state discussions and the organization's strategic positioning.
  • Conduct thorough policy research and analysis to uncover opportunities and devise solutions for both internal and external stakeholders. Review secondary and syndicated data and perform literature reviews to extract valuable insights.
  • Compose reports and recommendations that reflect thought leadership and align with organizational goals. Generate written reports and facilitate public meetings to collect information and insights, share findings, promote best practices, and advance solutions.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business, Mathematics, Political Science, or a related discipline, accompanied by 5+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to elucidate current trends in global economics, particularly regarding how market segments and demographics can impact macroeconomic trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to swiftly comprehend and interpret strategic issues and directives.
  • Skilled in gathering and analyzing information, with the capability to write and communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and styles; strong verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex points into clear and visual formats.
  • Familiarity with emerging data visualization tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing long-term projects that necessitate meticulous project management and resource allocation.
  • Robust understanding of national and international economic trends and drivers.
