Position Overview:
The Lead Process Engineer will provide specialized engineering support to enhance production operations and facilitate the introduction of new processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
As the primary engineer, you will oversee the execution of engineering studies, designs, evaluations, and enhancements aimed at optimizing resource utilization.

  • Act as the project engineer, managing scope, timelines, and budget for various process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to track and resolve issues effectively. Generate regular utilization reports for processing unit equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement changes in processes, conduct cost studies, and perform economic evaluations to enhance production unit efficiency (throughput, quality, safety, and effectiveness).
  • Monitor and direct productivity, process yields, and overall performance to ensure production targets are met efficiently.
  • Deliver engineering services aimed at maximizing equipment lifespan and enhancing plant profitability. Collaborate with plant personnel to identify, develop, and manage improvement projects.
  • Provide advisory support and assist in daily troubleshooting of equipment and processes within the unit. Continuously monitor productivity and performance metrics.
  • Support the maintenance team by identifying equipment susceptible to corrosion or erosion and assess the economic implications of maintenance activities.

Leadership and Support:
Lead the engineering initiatives by offering continuous guidance and expertise. Support ongoing operations through effective troubleshooting of equipment and systems while providing engineering assistance to production activities.

  • Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies for equipment maintenance to enhance reliability.
  • Possess knowledge of best practices in online equipment health monitoring, inspection, and repair techniques. Utilize effective diagnostic methods for troubleshooting.
  • Establish actual operating variable ranges for equipment and communicate discrepancies to maintenance and operations teams.
  • Assess the process and economic impacts of equipment failures and reliability issues.
  • Champion reliability initiatives in assigned areas by providing technical support to resolve design, operational, and maintenance challenges. Recommend design modifications to prevent equipment malfunctions and conduct life cycle cost analyses on critical equipment.
  • Estimate engineering and construction costs, prepare contract documentation, and lead turnaround planning efforts.
  • Propose projects and studies to the engineering team to enhance overall plant reliability and develop cost justifications for reliability improvements. Review equipment specifications and standards to recommend enhancements.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess 6-12 years of substantial experience in chemical manufacturing and hold a degree in Chemical Engineering.
