Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage premium collections and customer account activities.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, recommending improvements to processes to prevent future issues.
- Administer the policyholder refund process, ensuring timely verification and issuance of refund checks.
- Support cash processing and billing operations for policyholders.
- Prepare and complete daily cash receipts, ensuring timely deposits.
- Coordinate daily bank deposits and ensure prompt processing of checks.
- Record and enter payments into the billing system without delay.
- Review and verify documentation necessary for preparing payments and bills.
- Assist in reconciling bills and maintaining accurate account balances by tracking all transactions.
- Address billing-related inquiries from insured clients and producers.
- Support the reconciliation of premium and commission disbursements.
Qualifications:
Education:
An Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in accounting, business management, or finance is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in general accounting or billing, with direct customer interaction, is desired. Experience in the insurance industry and relevant designations are advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of analyzing complex issues and identifying root causes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries effectively.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and demonstrating flexibility.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interpret and respond to customer needs.
- Proficiency in numerical calculations and financial data management.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $35,900 - $57,300 / $42,500 - $67,900 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the complexity of the role, market conditions, and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
