Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Education Coordinator to join our team at Champaign Unit 4 Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating educational programs and services for English Language Learners (ELLs) and bilingual students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs and services for ELLs and bilingual students
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support for ELLs and bilingual students
  • Provide professional development and training for teachers on best practices for teaching ELLs and bilingual students
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and services for ELLs and bilingual students
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and agencies to support ELLs and bilingual students
Requirements
  • Illinois Professional Educator License with ESL or Bilingual Endorsement
  • Knowledge about the needs of English Learners and the challenges they face
  • Knowledge and ability to relate to the diversity of the community
  • Expertise in second language acquisition
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Master's Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience (preferred)
  • Leadership experience (preferred)
Benefits
  • The salary for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers
  • The District gives experienced teachers up to 21 years of experience credit for service outside the District
  • New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs
  • The District offers an additional $1,500 annual stipend for Teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
  • Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023 are eligible for a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus
