Certified Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Counseling & Crisis Centers. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will provide crisis support services to consumers receiving 24/7/365 crisis services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis support services to consumers, including crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization.
- Support medical and clinical services being provided to consumers, including provision of group and individual supportive counseling.
- Conduct screenings for walk-in consumers and complete admission/discharge paperwork under supervision.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, assist consumers with basic needs, and provide transportation as needed.
- Participate in daily meditation, WRAP groups, orientation groups, exercise, basic skill development, and social activities.
- Document services provided and billed, including service notes, confidentiality and privacy practice documentation, and general admission, discharge, and referral forms.
- Transport consumers to community resources and participate in a community-based team approach to achieve positive consumer outcomes.
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience in delivering crisis services.
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work 24/7/365 shifts, including availability by phone to work shifts and cover increased acuity on unit or as requested by supervisor.
- Ability to operate telephone, fax machine, and computer hardware/software.
- Ability to write in a legible, readable, and understandable manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Wrap Facilitator or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
