Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Cement Transport Operator to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license and be prepared to engage in various construction activities.

This role involves the transportation and operation of heavy machinery at multiple job sites. The candidate should be ready to assist the crew with manual labor tasks related to the installation of underground telecommunications cables and sewer pipelines. Participation in an on-call rotation is expected to support the team effectively. We value motivated individuals who are eager to contribute and grow within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute general construction tasks under the supervision of the Foreman/Supervisor.
  • Utilize hand tools to excavate holes and trenches.
  • Balance responsibilities between labor tasks and driving Class A CDL trucks.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of underground cable locating techniques.
  • Operate various types of trucks and heavy equipment safely.
  • Transport materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Assist in the installation of underground telecommunications cabling.
  • Manage traffic flow and establish safety perimeters using signage and barriers.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues to mechanics.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with Class A CDL.
  • Ability to climb in and out of various types of equipment.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and other body parts.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Ability to navigate congested and remote work areas.
  • Comfortable working in both standing and seated positions for extended periods.
  • Capacity to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry weights exceeding 75 pounds.
  • Proficient in bending, stooping, and reaching during work tasks.
  • Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and surrounding vehicles for safety.
Compensation: $30 - $32 per hour

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing and walking on uneven surfaces, along with turning, kneeling, and crouching.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Potential for wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
  • Noise levels may be high in the work area.
  • Regular interaction with moving traffic in the vicinity.
All operators must be open to working overtime as needed based on workload demands.
