In this role, you will apply standard engineering practices to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical systems. You will be involved in the development, release, and support of engineering documents throughout the development cycle to facilitate hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, testing, and operations. You will also implement operational procedures, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical insights. Additionally, you will research and assess customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to determine the feasibility, costs, and maintenance needs of designs or applications. You will specify system components or guide modifications to products to ensure they meet engineering design and performance standards. Investigating equipment failures and issues to diagnose malfunctions and make recommendations to maintenance teams will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Depending on your career aspirations, your projects may encompass various aspects of applied mechanical and structural engineering, including the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures. These projects will involve the integration of materials and processes, manufacturing, testing, operations, and systems engineering.
  • Your specific tasks will align with our business unit goals.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an internship with Blue Origin.
  • Currently enrolled or a recent graduate from a college or university.
  • Able to commence full-time work.
  • Possession of a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively on fast-paced development projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify requirements with minimal guidance.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for Blue's mission and a desire for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechatronics.
