Job Summary:

Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative high voltage connection systems for the mobility industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design high voltage connection systems from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop new technologies and manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate and implement new manufacturing technologies, such as electro magnetic pulse technology and ultrasonic welding.
  • Benchmark competitor products to identify areas for innovation and improvement.
  • Work with suppliers to define materials and develop supply chain strategies.
  • Coordinate and plan simulations, including mechanical, thermal, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
  • Translate simulation results into product design and development.
  • Develop and maintain design standards and best practices.
  • Experience in manufacturing process of high voltage connectors and knowledge of industry standards such as LV 214 and USCAR 2.
  • Working knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Prefer experience in the automotive industry.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS/PHD in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on high voltage connection systems.
  • Knowledge of plastics and relevant manufacturing processes, such as injection molding.
  • Experience working with metals and relevant manufacturing processes, such as high-speed stamping and plating.
  • CAD system experience, including linear and non-linear analysis/simulations, thermal and electrical simulations.
  • Working knowledge of product development processes, approaches, tools, and techniques, as well as validation in the mobility industry according to IATF 16949.
  • Creepage and clearances, shielding, exHVIL, and sealing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of cable harness build process.
  • Prefer experience in the automotive industry.
  • Awareness of intellectual property (IP) recognition and protection.
  • Statistical methods, such as design of experiments (DOEs), hypothesis testing, and capability studies.
  • Working knowledge of prototyping methods.
