Job Overview:

The Global Capital Markets (GCM) division at M&T Bank is in search of a skilled professional to assume the role of Business Control Specialist. This position is based in Wilmington, Delaware, and is pivotal in enhancing the procedural framework of GCM. The selected candidate will ensure that operational processes are consistent and standardized, collaborating with various teams to align with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Refine and enhance the procedural framework of GCM
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment of processes with policies
  • Identify discrepancies in procedures and implement corrective actions
  • Engage in policy reviews and audit processes
  • Work closely with stakeholders to conduct impact analyses
  • Perform control testing and review outcomes of tests
  • Assist with additional Business Control tasks as required

Scope of Responsibilities:

This role necessitates significant interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, acting as a liaison among departments and business units. The individual will be expected to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within project teams, providing mentorship to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, preferably with an Audit concentration
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in Corporate Trust is essential
  • Proficient writing skills for drafting policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
