Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a key member of our Heart and Vascular Institute, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic information for the treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound imaging and therapeutic services, ensuring high-quality patient care and support for the Heart and Vascular Institute's mission.
  • Oversee daily work flow and problem-solving in designated specialized modalities, maintaining expertise and providing orientation to new staff members.
  • Support cardiovascular staff by promoting cooperative problem-solving and team building, displaying a professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Assist with quality assurance functions, monitor inventory of medical supplies, and provide direct feedback to supervisors regarding technologist performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, report failures immediately, and support development of protocols with supervisors, cardiologists, and vascular surgeons.
  • Participate in human resource functions related to interviewing, selection, and retention of staff, ensuring consistent practice of quality imaging among all shifts and individuals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate of an accredited medical sonography program.
  • Certification in two of the following: Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Five years of experience in cardiac and vascular sonography.
