Job Summary

The California Energy Commission is seeking a highly skilled Energy Commission Specialist I to join its team in the Fuels and Transportation Division. As an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning and deploying zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, working closely with the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the Clean Transportation Program, investing over $1 billion to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission transportation infrastructure and support in-state manufacturing and workforce training and development.
  • Work as a project manager for agreements and collaborate with the unit on block grants to accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with third-party block grant implementers, evaluate policy design and implementation proposals, and participate in regular strategy and coordination calls.
  • Develop solicitations, score proposals, and manage funding agreements, including review and approvals of invoices, amendments, and deliverables.
  • Oversee and manage project implementation, evaluate and recommend potential updates to electric vehicle infrastructure policies and strategies, and collaborate within the CEC and with outside agencies and stakeholders.

  • Hybrid and Telework Employees: Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California.
Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance.
