Job Description

Job Summary:

The Staff Services Manager I - Budget Specialist will work independently to monitor the Public Utilities Commission's operational and position budgets for larger, complex divisions. The successful candidate will collaborate with other specialists and the Staff Services Manager I - Supervisor in the development and management of the overall department budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze the Public Utilities Commission's operational and position budgets for larger, complex divisions.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and the Staff Services Manager I - Supervisor in the development and management of the overall department budget.
  • Provide highly skilled insight and analysis in the development and management of special projects and budgets for the Public Utilities Commission.
  • Act autonomously and authoritatively within these specialty areas.
Requirements:
  • Experience with the external Governor's Budget development process.
  • Ability to develop and manage a budget within an organization.
  • Experience with using FI$Cal reports to perform data analysis and make informed budgetary decisions.
Working Conditions:

This position requires travel. Positions at the Public Utilities Commission may be eligible for telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, and subject to meeting the telework eligibility criteria.
