Job Summary

The California Energy Commission is seeking an experienced Energy Commission Specialist II to join our team in the Fuels and Transportation Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex analytical tasks associated with the Clean Transportation Program, which aims to transition to zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on technical and economic issues related to alternative and renewable fuels and vehicle technologies.
  • Develop and implement projects requiring coordination of multiple staff members and stakeholders.
  • Conduct sensitive and complex analyses requiring a high degree of judgment and technical knowledge.
  • Lead program planning and implementation efforts, including developing and implementing project plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the mission of the Energy Commission.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for this position can be found at CalHR-Energy Commission Specialist/Supervisor (Technology Evaluation & Development) Series.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a related field, such as energy policy, transportation, or environmental science.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as energy policy, transportation, or environmental science.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ZEV infrastructure and policy.
  • Experience leading or participating in rulemakings.
  • Ability to think critically and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
