Role Overview

The Finance team within the Security Business Unit serves as a vital partner to the Business Unit President and their leadership team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Sales Finance, the Lead Financial Strategist is instrumental in our financial reporting and planning initiatives, delivering comprehensive analysis to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team while collaborating closely with Sales Vice Presidents and the Sales Finance team. This position is pivotal in uncovering profit enhancement opportunities and driving revenue growth that exceeds market expectations. The individual will act as a strategic ally for the Sales Organization, providing a unique opportunity to engage with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. This role will frequently represent finance on key core teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, evaluate, and report on the annual operating plan along with monthly forecasts for North American customer accounts and sales-related expenditures.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of sales, allowances, and Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) expenses at month-end to ensure accurate and timely insights for decision-making in sales and finance.
  • Assess proposed pricing strategies and promotional activities, including both incremental and fully allocated analyses of significant new promotions; evaluate price adjustments and their potential impact on future outcomes.
  • Analyze price elasticity for major promotions and recommend pricing strategies/programs to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Facilitate mergers and acquisitions integration to enhance and streamline processes.
  • Provide the sales team with customized analytical support as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and engage in various departmental projects and assignments as appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Analytical roles is required; 7+ years is preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; moderate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of staff. The capacity to teach, motivate, and persuade individuals across the organization is crucial for this role.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to convey these concepts to others. Familiarity with accounting principles and the ability to investigate variances between actual and expected results is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in supporting sales teams and financial planning.
  • Familiarity with Oracle EBS, HFM, Essbase, and Tableau is advantageous.
