Our company, established in 2003, is dedicated to providing high-quality natural food options for pets, including a diverse range of freeze-dried raw, frozen raw, kibble, wet food, and treats.
As the Innovation Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our brand through innovative product experiences. We seek an individual who excels in long-term brand strategy, consumer insights, and new product development. In this position, you will oversee the creation, management, and execution of a dynamic multi-channel product pipeline, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead innovation initiatives from concept to market launch using the StageGate™ process, including idea generation, project scope definition, feasibility assessment, and product finalization.
- Monitor market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to uncover innovation opportunities, regularly analyzing data for actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, project management, quality assurance, operations, R&D, regulatory, and finance, to support innovation projects and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Work closely with R&D throughout the product development lifecycle to oversee product formulations and testing.
- Manage detailed deliverables related to the creative execution of new products, including timelines, technical documentation, and packaging proofs to ensure timely delivery.
- Support financial analysis to ensure opportunities meet revenue and margin expectations through effective pricing and positioning strategies.
- Assist in the creation and management of our product pipeline for both domestic and international markets, including idea identification, research, sizing, and validation.
- Track progress against established goals, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Develop compelling presentations backed by insights for internal and external stakeholders to support product sell-in, marketing transitions, and training.
- Contribute to the optimization of innovation processes and help establish systematic methods to enhance cross-functional collaboration and accelerate time to market.
- 5+ years of experience in brand/product management, innovation, or product development within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, preferably in the pet industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field is required; an MBA is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with data sources such as Nielsen and Stackline is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading new product initiatives from concept to commercialization.
- A strong combination of strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- A highly motivated self-starter with a creative problem-solving mindset who is eager to drive continuous improvement.
