Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supervising all nutrition and food services to enhance the quality of customer service to all our clients and the Promiseland Children. This is a full-time position that requires a high degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross-cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement nutritional menus for our clients and partner provider meals, ensuring accurate spreadsheets and operating within the approved budget.
  2. Provide quality nutritional services and maintain all cafeteria areas (Family Grill) in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  3. Review and track related expenses, complete equipment purchase forms, and assist in budget planning.
  4. Train kitchen staff, post schedules, time allocation records, and attendance records, and complete KPI forms and performance evaluations.
  5. Work closely with the Volunteer Services department to establish guidelines and develop plans to maximize the impact of volunteers within the Food Services Department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. completed and a Certified Food Safety Manager certificate.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital cafeteria or high-volume restaurant.
  • Good computer and clerical skills, including Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheet.
  • The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework, communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families.
