Job Overview:
The Team Operations Supervisor supports the management team in overseeing daily store functions and overall performance to achieve or surpass financial targets while adhering to organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES
Occasionally oversees team members, providing verbal and written guidance regarding tasks and performance. May assume greater supervisory duties in the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager.
Exhibits a positive, enthusiastic demeanor consistently. Engages courteously and shows genuine interest in every interaction with customers.
Processes customer transactions swiftly and accurately in accordance with cash handling protocols.
Interacts with customers on the sales floor and offers assistance as necessary.
Maintains all visual merchandising standards, including houseware displays, clothing racks, and shoe displays.
Ensures proper rotation of all merchandise available in the store.
Maintains a clean and safe environment in the retail space, processing area, and donation center by following good housekeeping practices or delegating tasks to team members.
Checks cash drawers and completes bank deposits at the end of the business day.Ensures that store staff adhere to company guidelines to enhance customer and donor experiences, demonstrating appropriate interactions with both customers and team members.
Achieves production targets for grading, sorting, hanging, pricing, and tagging donated items in preparation for retail sale.
Participates in the store's loss prevention efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the Store Manager, Regional Manager, or Loss Prevention Director.
Ensures that items are not given away or discarded without proper authorization.Acts as a positive role model for team members, trainees, and customers in all aspects of professional growth.
Ensures the store operates during designated hours.
Meets or exceeds daily productivity and quality benchmarks as set by Donated Goods Leadership.
Value Optimization:
Prices items according to guidelines to maximize the value of donations while providing quality products to our customers at a fair price.
Keeps the production area clean, organized, and safe by maintaining only essential items.Conducts brief compliance drills at the end of each shift to ensure adherence to station setup protocols.
Is accessible to customers and demonstrates a high level of service by exceeding their expectations.
Is knowledgeable of and complies with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
Actively promotes a safe, healthy, and positive environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of team members, customers, and program participants.
Attends mandatory monthly store meetings.Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
Education
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Experience
12-18 months of relevant experience and/or training.
Knowledge and Skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with other store personnel.
Able to push or pull loads exceeding 50 pounds consistently.
Able to understand, communicate, comply with, and enforce policies and procedures.
Able to learn new processes quickly and possesses strong organizational skills.
Able to problem-solve, prioritize, and multitask.
Able to travel to and work at various locations as needed.
Able to perform basic mathematical operations and manage a budget.
Able to read and complete forms.
Basic computer skills (Basic Excel and Email).
Must have reliable transportation to perform job duties; i.e., travel to other locations and/or make bank deposits as necessary.
Must be able to work a varied schedule that includes nights and weekends.Certifications and Licenses
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in retail, customer service, or production is preferred, with a minimum of 3 months of supervisory experience.
