Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supervising all nutrition and food services to enhance the quality of customer service to all our clients and the Promiseland Children. This is a key role that requires a high degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross-cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement nutritional menus for our clients and partner provider meals.
  2. Ensure quality nutritional services are provided daily and maintain all cafeteria areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  3. Review and track all related expenses and operate within the approved budget.
  4. Complete equipment purchase forms for new equipment and assist in the budget planning process.
  5. Provide ongoing training for kitchen staff and post schedules, time allocation records, and attendance records.
  6. Attend daily stand-up meetings, complete KPI forms, and performance evaluations for employees.
  7. Work closely with the Volunteer Services department to establish guidelines and develop plans to maximize the impact of volunteers within the Food Services Department.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and a Certified Food Safety Manager certificate. Prefer 4-6 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital cafeteria or high-volume restaurant. Good computer and clerical skills, including Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheet. Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework, communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida's climate, endure prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching. Must be able to relocate materials in a safe and proper manner, have adequate hearing and speaking ability, and have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.
