Position Title: Member Services Specialist I
Department: Member Services

Reports to: Director of Member Services Status: Non-exempt

Supervises: N/A Comp Level: Associate I/II/III

This role is essential in supporting the Federation's mission by showcasing a dedication to outstanding member service, along with a collaborative approach, fairness, respect, and accountability.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Member Services, this role demands meticulous attention to detail, teamwork, and the capability to deliver exceptional member service. Responsibilities include fostering trustworthy member relationships, identifying member requirements, providing accurate information, and implementing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering exceptional member service and cultivating trustworthy relationships both internally and externally.
  • Engaging with members professionally through various communication channels and providing precise information.
  • Ensuring commitments to members are fulfilled.
  • Aiming to surpass baseline performance by establishing higher personal objectives.
  • Enhancing departmental productivity by addressing member inquiries within designated turnaround times.
  • Resolving member requests promptly.
  • Assisting in the organization and upkeep of departmental documentation.
  • Contributing to departmental success by collaborating with team members to meet deadlines and proposing efficiency improvements while maintaining accuracy.
  • Promoting a positive work environment and demonstrating an optimistic attitude.
  • Processing memberships in accordance with Federation guidelines, with familiarity in membership regulations and procedures.
  • Participating in special projects as identified by management for evaluation.
  • Ensuring exceptional member service and enhancing member relationships.
  • Maintaining effective and professional communication with members and staff.
  • Building productive relationships with Directors and other staff to foster a positive team atmosphere.
  • Providing assistance to other department members as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, energy, reliability, and self-motivation are essential.
  • A high level of diplomacy and the ability to establish trust is required, alongside standard courtesy and tact.
  • This role involves extensive personal interaction and may require motivating and influencing others.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through on commitments, as well as demonstrated problem-solving skills, are necessary.
  • Consistent adherence to a work schedule and availability is crucial for this position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and internet navigation is necessary.
  • Extended availability, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
  • Spanish language skills are advantageous.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Some college education preferred.
  • Experience in customer service is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. (Lifting over 25 pounds requires assistance)
