Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our salaried and wage employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll transactions, including deduction changes, federal and state tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and retirement plan contributions.
  • Enter payroll data into our HR/Payroll system, Cardinal HCM, and reconcile input documents against edit reports daily.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of payroll transactions, supporting documentation, and reports.
  • Perform per pay period, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, as well as year-end payroll procedures.
  • Interpret state, federal, and payroll regulations related to liens, garnishments, compensation, and benefits.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
Requirements
  • Five years of experience processing payroll, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience working with Cardinal (PeopleSoft) payroll processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted payroll practices, automated payroll processing, and internal control practices and procedures.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
Work Environment

This position works a hybrid schedule, with a few days per week on-site at our office. The typical office environment is comfortable, with considerable time spent in a sitting, stationary position.
