Maintenance Specialist

As a Maintenance Specialist at Lutheran Senior Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that values community and teamwork, and where every member is appreciated and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of non-routine and skilled maintenance and repair activities on community buildings and grounds
Complete work orders as assigned, through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), to repair or install equipment and machinery or HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, concrete, locks, grounds work and assist residents and/or customers with general maintenance needs
Prepare apartments to bring them online, including painting, patching, making repairs, and any other tasks necessary to make unit ready for move in
Conduct equipment maintenance, testing, lubricating, cleaning machinery, and reporting any equipment malfunctions, repairs or replaces defective items
Assist in maintaining the appearance of the main buildings, outside buildings, and grounds, including snow removal and salting
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Trade school preferable
Must possess knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, small equipment repair
EPA refrigerant certification type II required if position will be handling refrigeration
Must be proficient in the use of saws, hand tools, carpentry equipment, lawn equipment, and alarm systems

Is subject to exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within guidelines of standard precautions.
