Job Summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to join its award-winning communications team. The successful candidate will serve as a key communications partner to the CEO of UC San Diego Health, providing strategic, timely, and effective communications that inspire and motivate employees and key external audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute communications strategies to support the CEO's priorities and initiatives
  • Research and write high-quality content for internal and external communications, including presentations, internal memoranda, social media posts, press release quotes, letters, and broader communications
  • Coordinate approvals and execute distributions of communications materials
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in communications
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications
Requirements
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of related experience/training
  • Proven experience in content creation and distribution, including memorandum, presentations, quotes for press releases, speeches, and social media posts
  • Demonstrated experience with c-suite communications and ability to measure, analyze, and translate communications content performance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications
Special Conditions
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
Pay Transparency Act
  • Annual Full Pay Range: $77,000 - $139,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
  • Hourly Equivalent: $66.67
