Position Summary:

At CAT Digital, we are in the process of developing a cutting-edge platform that will serve as a foundation for a variety of customer-centric applications. We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Platform Services team, concentrating on Alert and Notification Services and other platform services built on RESTful APIs, real-time data streaming, and AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

The Technical Product Manager collaborates closely with the Scrum Team, primarily tasked with creating and managing the Product Backlog, ensuring clarity on priorities, and assisting the Scrum Team in achieving sprint objectives.

  • Maximize the product's value and the Development Team's output.
  • Serve as Product Owner for larger, complex projects that hold significant value for the organization.
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the Product Backlog based on business value throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate Product Backlog priorities to the team effectively.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker regarding product features.
  • Articulate the vision of the product and convey it to the team.
  • Collaborate with Lead Engineers to break down epics, themes, and features into manageable user stories for single sprints.
  • Negotiate business requirements and release timelines with Product and development teams.
  • Convey the vision and goals at the start of each sprint.
  • Manage defect prioritization and resolution.
  • Engage closely with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Make decisions regarding release dates and content.
  • Represent the customer by engaging with them directly.
  • Lead the Daily Scrum meetings.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Assess product progress at the end of each sprint and accept or reject the Development Team's work.
  • Serve as the team's voice, communicating status updates externally.
  • Exemplify Scrum values and understand the framework and roles of each team member.
  • Advocate for the agile community and promote its growth within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in software development and/or architecture, particularly with Java, RESTful APIs, and AWS cloud services.
  • Proficient in managing products utilizing cloud technologies.
  • Knowledgeable in software engineering principles, including development, testing, integration, and deployment of software or applications.
  • Familiar with the business operations of digital products, including system software and integration platforms.
  • Well-versed in project management methodologies, capable of participating in multiple projects as an expert in the application or process.
  • Strong communication skills across various groups and levels, including stakeholders, business partners, customers, and vendors.
  • Manage software product change requests from customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UAT activities, tasks, tools, and techniques; capable of designing, implementing, and evaluating acceptance tests for end-users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, marketing, communications, engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of experience as a technical product owner.
  • Proficient in managing product backlogs using Agile software tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining software in public cloud environments like AWS.
  • Proven track record in designing and developing scalable software solutions.
  • Experience working with both onshore and offshore teams.
  • Background in designing and developing cloud-native software solutions at scale using Java or Scala.
  • Previous experience leading a technical team while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
