Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Maritime Operations Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will be part of a dedicated group responsible for the operation and upkeep of vessels that support critical missions. Your work will involve assisting various government entities and military units in maritime operations.

Primary Duties:
  • Serve as the operator for various vessels, including rigid-hulled inflatable boats and other specialized crafts, ensuring their operational readiness.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on vessel engines and mechanical systems, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform thorough inspections before and after missions, maintaining accurate logs and reports on vessel conditions.
  • Manage the launching and recovery processes of the vessels.
  • Oversee navigation and communication systems aboard the crafts.
  • Ensure safe and efficient vessel operations at all times.
  • Conduct testing and maintenance to verify that all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary power systems and generators.
  • When deployed, manage mission support equipment setup and troubleshooting, reporting any issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Engage in cross-training opportunities and participate in relevant operational and maintenance training programs.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, with qualifications from a recognized military or civilian authority.
  • A valid small boat coxswain certification, meeting established standards.
  • Proficiency in operating various vessel types and systems within a specified timeframe.
  • Experience in maintaining detailed logs and reports regarding equipment status and maintenance activities.
  • Completion of relevant training for diesel and gas engine systems within a designated period.
  • Ability to obtain necessary certifications and licenses within a specified timeframe.
  • Capability to secure and maintain a government security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support testing and evaluation operations.
  • Physical ability to handle equipment in accordance with military standards.
  • Responsibility for managing financial transactions related to operational needs.
