Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Job Description

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse to join our team. As a per diem RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to children undergoing treatment for cancer or blood disorders.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse will work in our 18-bed unit, caring for patients who require specialized care and treatment. You will be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient health problems and needs
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects
  • Provide individualized, innovative, and specialized care to patients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in pediatric nursing and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
