Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse to join our team at Penn State Health. As a per diem RN, you will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing treatment for pediatric cancer or blood disorders and solid organ transplant.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients, including administering medications and monitoring for reactions and side effects.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide individualized, innovative, and specialized care to patients in the community.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest treatments and technologies in pediatric hematology and oncology.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working in pediatric hematology and oncology or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
