Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurse to join our team at Penn State Health. As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric Oncology Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients, including pediatric cancer and blood disorders patients.
  • Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and provide education on treatment options and side effects.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Requirements:
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period.
  • Two years of experience in pediatric hematology and oncology nursing preferred.
