About the Role

As a Counter Salesperson at Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in finding the best products that meet their needs, while also ensuring that all sales transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including point-of-sale sales communication
  • Assist clients in finding the best products that suit their needs
  • Process sales orders, quotes, and returns in an accurate and timely manner
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain appropriate product stock
  • Ensure store displays are categorized properly and merchandise is stocked and organized
  • Follow up on missing or delayed shipments
  • Balance cash registers and adhere to company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of inside sales experience
  • Knowledge of brands such as Marvin and Anderson
  • Technical and computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multitask
  • Exceptional follow-up skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong administrative, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint measurements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the lumber or construction industry
  • Two years of industry-relevant experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, and walking. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
