EnerSys Delaware, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing in-shop and field service work in the underground mine environment. Your primary duties will include installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties.

  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance to customer's equipment to include flooded and sealed batteries, chargers, and DC power distribution equipment.
  • Interact with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.
  • Develop and conduct training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections of customers' batteries, chargers, battery handling equipment, and battery changing/charging area and record data.
  • Replace defective parts, reassemble battery, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch.
  • Determine specific gravity of solution.
  • Water, wash, clean, and neutralize customer's batteries at customer's location.
  • Install equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Maintain records of performance reports.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
  • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.

Requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Certificate - 80 hours completion, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet, basic mechanical aptitude, previous experience working with hand and power tools, and previous customer service experience in field support. Additionally, the candidate must be able to read with comprehension and write documents in English, perform basic math, and solve simple equations. The candidate must also be able to travel to customer sites, have a valid driver's license, and be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
