Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a JCC Course Instructor to join our team, focusing on training personnel in advanced communication technologies.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position offers a unique opportunity to educate Navy Information System Technicians on the fundamentals of radio frequency communication, encompassing various systems, components, and security protocols. The instructor will play a vital role in developing student competencies in operating communication suites across the high frequency (HF) to extremely high frequency (EHF) spectrums, as well as the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS). Comprehensive training will include system configuration, performance monitoring, fault isolation, and circuit restoration of IT communication systems.

The instructor will operate under general guidance, adhering to established protocols while also being open to detailed instructions for new initiatives. Performance will be assessed based on judgment, instructional effectiveness, technical support, teamwork, and client satisfaction. Evening classes may be part of the teaching schedule. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. A DoD Secret level security clearance is mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing, assessing, and implementing training programs to fulfill customer needs and team performance goals.
  • Preparing instructional materials and laboratory equipment for course execution.
  • Conducting both theoretical and practical training sessions.
  • Ensuring readiness of technical training tools.
  • Delivering courses in accordance with standard Navy training methodologies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and clients to refine and assess training objectives and course content.
  • Monitoring training effectiveness, evaluating outcomes, and proposing enhancements.
  • Compiling and submitting regular reports on training progress.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE & CLEARANCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, or a combination of military experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • At least five years of combined experience in providing technical support for Navy IT RF communication systems and shipboard networks.
  • Completion of Formal Instructor Training (options include):
    • Navy's Basic Instructor Training Course or industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Trainer, CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer).
    • Formal teaching qualifications.
    • Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification is preferred but not mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualification as a JCC instructor.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Cisco CCNA or Microsoft MWSHAA certification.
  • Experience in instructing courses.
  • Providing technical support for course materials.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this role based on experience and other factors.
