Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a JCC Course Instructor to join our team, focusing on the training of personnel in the field of Information Warfare.

ROLE SUMMARY:

This is a dynamic teaching role aimed at imparting essential knowledge to Navy Information System Technicians regarding radio frequency communication fundamentals, communication systems and their components, as well as security protocols and operational procedures. The instructor will be responsible for cultivating the skills necessary for students to manage external communication systems across various frequency spectrums, including high frequency (HF) to extremely high frequency (EHF) radio frequency (RF) ranges and the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS). The role entails delivering thorough training that encompasses system operation, configuration, performance monitoring, fault detection, and circuit restoration for IT communication systems.

The instructor operates under general guidance and established protocols, while also being open to detailed instructions for new projects or tasks. Performance is assessed based on judgment, instructional effectiveness, technical support, collaboration, and client satisfaction. Evening classes may be required occasionally. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. A DoD Secret level security clearance is mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing, assessing, and implementing training programs that align with customer needs and team performance goals.
  • Preparing instructional materials and laboratory equipment for course delivery.
  • Conducting both theoretical and practical training sessions.
  • Ensuring readiness of technical training equipment.
  • Delivering courses in accordance with established Navy training standards.
  • Collaborating with team members and client representatives to refine and evaluate training objectives and course content.
  • Monitoring training effectiveness, assessing outcomes, and recommending improvements.
  • Compiling and submitting regular reports on training progress.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE & CLEARANCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor's degree with six (6) years of relevant experience, or a combination of military experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • A minimum of five years of experience providing technical support for Navy IT RF communication systems and shipboard networks.
  • Completion of Formal Instructor Training, such as:
    • Navy's Basic Instructor Training Course or equivalent industry certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Trainer or CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer certification).
    • A formal teaching degree or certification.
    • Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification is preferred but not mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualification as a JCC instructor.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Cisco CCNA or Microsoft MWSHAA certification.
  • Experience in instructing courses.
  • Providing technical support for course content.

Compensation range: $80,001 - $120,000, reflecting the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
