EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience in child engagement is essential.
- A minimum of 48 college credits or a successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment is mandatory.
- Capability to assist in an educational support capacity with students across elementary, middle, or high school levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
- Understanding of children's developmental milestones.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to design age-appropriate activities as guided by the literacy instructor.
- Must be at least 18 years old for elementary school roles.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school for middle and high school roles.
- Support the educator in crafting instructional plans and ensuring a secure and structured environment.
- Engage with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning following the educator's instruction.
- Assist the educator in lesson preparation.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
- Provide substitute coverage when necessary.
The physical demands and environmental conditions associated with this role include: the ability to navigate various locations; standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and handling light to medium weights ranging from 10-50 pounds. Proficiency in hand-eye coordination, dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers, including the ability to grasp, as well as visual acuity for keyboard use, is required. The role frequently necessitates sitting, reaching with hands and arms, and effective communication skills for listening and speaking.
