About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Manager to join our Sustainability Infrastructure Building - Solutions & Technologies business at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the construction management of assigned building retrofit projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain customer and subcontractor relationships to ensure successful project execution.
- Control project costs, change orders, and scope creep to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Implement site safety and security procedures and project work rules to ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans to ensure timely completion and profitability.
- Provide monthly reporting of project financial status and participate in area monthly project backlog reviews.
- Establish customer touch points throughout the project lifecycle to gain feedback on customer satisfaction.
- Effectively communicate project status to area team and project delivery manager/director as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent work-related experience and a minimum of five (5) years of direct project management experience in the building construction industry.
- Management experience with projects related to HVAC, Controls/BAS, Lighting, and Renewable Energy systems is desired.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- The ability to travel for project assignments, which may exist outside of assigned geography.
- Proficient in project management software and financial accounting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- LEED certification or PMP certification.
