Job Overview

The Construction Project Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering and sustaining a collaborative relationship with all stakeholders involved in the project. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a constant presence on the construction site, ensuring availability for employees and subcontractors during active work hours.
  • Oversee the completion and distribution of daily project documentation as required.
  • Develop and manage Project Schedules using MS Project, regularly reviewing them with the Project Manager or Vice President of Operations, and updating as necessary for optimal scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's Safety Policy by all individuals on site, including visitors such as design professionals and clients.
  • Proactively coordinate all tasks and team members to facilitate seamless execution and minimize rework.
  • Monitor daily project progress, making adjustments to activities as needed to prevent delays, and provide updates to supervisors regarding schedule and subcontractor performance.
  • Facilitate subcontractor progress meetings on-site, ensuring comprehensive attendance and forwarding notes to all relevant team members.
  • Exercise control over all project purchases, preparing Purchase Orders for review and approval as delegated.
  • Anticipate and resolve conflicts that may arise without causing delays, compromising quality, or impacting costs.
  • Maintain and distribute all project-related documents, specifications, selections, and milestone dates to key stakeholders as required.
  • Coordinate equipment requirements for the project, tracking and reporting any budgetary impacts to the appropriate parties.
  • Prepare and manage the project deliverables schedule, collecting samples as necessary to expedite project flow and regularly distributing updates to Design Teams.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the owner on projects, conducting Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings as needed and keeping accurate records of all site interactions.
  • Regularly update and distribute the Project Budget Review to all relevant parties.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

Experience in construction management and leadership is essential. A solid understanding of building codes, the ability to interpret blueprints, municipal permitting requirements, and regulations, along with mid-level construction management practices and proficient computer skills are prerequisites.

Specific Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is strongly recommended.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a Project Superintendent 2 or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Office, MS Project, and web-based applications.
  • Procore Project Manager Certifications are required.
  • Significant experience in high-pressure environments and projects with tight deadlines is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and non-verbal methods, with both internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work independently to manage project scope with minimal supervision.
  • Effective leadership skills for managing teams ranging from 2 to 100 individuals, including company employees and subcontractors.
  • OSHA 30 and CPR certification within 12 months of acquiring the position.
