Denark Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Project Accountant will serve as the primary financial advisor and assistant to the Project Team, providing financial guidance and support on assigned projects. This role will involve performing various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost, payroll, and general accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply accounting standards to assigned projects and assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of one or more sections.
  • Process vendor or contractor invoices, prepare client invoices, and perform equipment rental accounting and back charges.
  • Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other sections, departments, vendors, contractors, and clients.
  • Make recommendations to the supervisor and project team for cost-effective methods of accomplishing specific functions.
  • Assist the project team in monitoring the financial condition of projects and protecting profit.
  • Input job information and job cost into Sage Timberline accounting software.
  • Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree plus two years of construction accounting experience or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
  • Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with current computer software, including strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with Sage Timberline 300 CRE and/or Procore software is desirable.
