Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical and Structural Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves delivering a broad spectrum of geotechnical and structural engineering services, focusing on the assessment, repair, and enhancement of various structures, as well as the design of new constructions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading engineering investigations and analyses, including design and peer reviews of structures such as deep and shallow foundations, ground improvement systems, and earth retaining structures.
  • Conducting analyses related to soil settlement, slope stability, and groundwater dynamics.
  • Evaluating the integrity of embankments, tunnels, and pavement systems.
  • Performing forensic evaluations of compromised structures.
  • Designing effective repairs or retrofits to address structural deterioration.
  • Supporting construction operations, including new builds and rehabilitation projects.
  • Conducting investigations to assist with insurance claims and litigation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position align with ASCE Grade IV standards and include:

  • Preparing project proposals, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Planning and executing work under the guidance of a supervisor.
  • Managing complex projects or components with minimal oversight.
  • Delegating tasks while fostering a coaching relationship with project staff.
  • Maintaining direct client interactions and nurturing relationships with external project teams.
  • Contributing to internal technical training initiatives.
  • Drafting comprehensive reports, specifications, and proposals with limited supervision.
  • Leading technical discussions with clients and project teams.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant civil engineering experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • Professional licensure is mandatory.
  • Preferred candidates will hold an MS or Ph.D. in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Active participation in professional organizations such as ASCE is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical expertise in the relevant field.
  • Ability to synthesize contributions from multiple technical experts into cohesive solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management and personal time management.
  • Expertise in computer analysis software (e.g., GEOSLOPE Suite, Slide, Plaxis, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report are required.
