We are currently in search of a dedicated Special Inspector/Geotechnical Engineer possessing a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a valid PE license. This role offers a dynamic and growth-oriented work environment, complemented by mentorship from seasoned professionals. Candidates will gain extensive hands-on experience in both fieldwork and design, equipping them for the PE examination if not already completed.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading engineering efforts on assigned projects while reporting to senior engineers.
- Conducting geotechnical analyses and calculations.
- Reviewing designs, drawings, and technical calculations.
- Overseeing construction monitoring with field experience.
- Executing field investigations and site assessments, dedicating approximately 75% of work hours to field activities.
- Preparing comprehensive reports and technical documentation.
- Participating in project meetings and conference calls.
- Managing project documentation and progress tracking.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's degree with a Geotechnical focus is preferred.
- PE license is mandatory.
- ICC certifications in Welding, Bolting, and Masonry are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in structural design.
- Ability to utilize engineering analysis software effectively.
- Familiarity with construction drawing standards and experience in preparing design drawings.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and a collaborative team player.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with clarity and precision.
- Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. Additional compensation is provided for weekend assignments and extended hours.
