Central Registration Specialist Job Description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Central Registration Specialist to join our team in Springfield, MA.

Job Summary:

The Central Registration Specialist is the primary point of contact for community agencies, clients, and internal staff to register clients, verify insurance benefits, and schedule intake appointments for outpatient and psychiatric services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with clients and family members to register for treatment and verify insurance benefits
  • Interact with community providers and partners to refer potential clients for treatment
  • Verify and update client demographics and insurance information
  • Schedule appointments for clinicians and prescribers for hospital discharge referrals
  • Communicate special needs and requests from referral sources to clinic sites or CBHI
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in a computerized setting preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Email
  • Use of electronic medical records is a plus
  • Valid and active driver's license required
