Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at UCHealth. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing sonography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate scheduling and preparation for procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implement safety standards.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyze results, and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
