Job Summary

UCHealth (Colorado) is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in Longmont, Colorado. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders, and schedules exams.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, and implements safety standards.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures, analyzes results, and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
