Psychiatric Technician

The Psychiatric Technician plays a vital role in providing therapeutic care for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders. As a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, this position functions under the supervision of professional staff to ensure the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
- Respond to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
- Maintain a safe environment, adhering to Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and reporting environmental hazards and patient safety policy violations.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure successful treatment and stabilization.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
- Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive individuals.
- Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing.
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Lifting, moving, and loading less than 20 pounds.
