Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Primoris Design & Construction Inc. as a Solar/Renewable Energy Expert. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on solar PV design and renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of solar PV systems, including detailed design concepts and optimization support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely submission of engineering deliverables and effective project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a database of equipment involved in solar PV design, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Review and analyze utility interconnection documents, including facility studies and interconnection agreements.
  • Apply innovative engineering principles to optimize utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems, developing design matrices and maintaining them for future reference.
  • Work closely with CAD designers to create well-designed solar PV site layouts, single-line diagrams, and other design drawings and details.
  • Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodologies, and safety procedures.
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or related engineering stream.
  • Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain one within 1 year.
  • 7+ years of work experience in solar PV, BESS design, or related construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical engineering and/or work related to solar PV or renewable energy construction projects.
  • Professional experience with utility PV engineering contract deliverables in EPC settings.
  • Preferred proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office.
  • Electrical engineering simulation software experience a plus.
  • Managerial skills to manage multiple deliverables within a multi-department setup.
  • Leadership skills to manage multiple employees for day-to-day responsibilities and workload.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal and external communication.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
