Position Summary
In the role of Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Manager of Electrical Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the project development team across the Americas. Your responsibilities will encompass the development of electrical engineering scopes, estimating engineering labor, defining design requirements, and providing direction on equipment specifications. You will collaborate with both internal and external engineering teams to establish electrical calculations and project specifications for various systems, including substations and power distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to and promote the company's safety standards.
- Comply with all relevant procedures, engineering practices, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with Air Liquide and industry regulations, as well as applicable federal, state, and local codes.
- Collaborate with the E&C Project Development team to ensure comprehensive scope development and accurate electrical engineering estimates are integrated into project plans.
- Provide preliminary electrical design support for capital and service projects, including scope development, labor estimates, design reviews, and equipment specifications.
- Work alongside internal and external engineering centers to fulfill electrical calculation requirements for substations and power distribution systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Review and approve electrical equipment and controls supplied by internal and external engineering teams.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for Power Distribution Centers and large electrical motors.
- Offer technical support to maintenance and operational teams to address electrical performance issues, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
- Maintain project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for estimating purposes as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Professional Engineer license is mandatory.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, design, and technical support within an industrial or engineering and construction environment.
- Proficiency in cryogenic air separation technology and familiarity with HYCO and SMR technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical applications and design standards in industrial settings, including NEC, IEC, and ANSI guidelines.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and conduct power calculations for various plant sizes.
- Experience in interfacing with utility companies to devise cost-effective energy solutions.
- Capability to collaborate with estimating, product, and project teams to create accurate estimates for new and existing facilities.
- Competence in assembling equipment costs for electrical systems, including transformers and switchgear.
