About the Role:
The Electrical Engineer Level 1 will engage in research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects across various sectors, including marine, oil & gas, defense, civil engineering (movable bridges), and industrial power units.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop control systems, instruments, and electrical systems for marine, defense, oil & gas, and industrial applications.
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Integrate electrical systems with hydraulic controls and other operational systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure effective system integration.
- Oversee activities to ensure compliance with functional specifications and customer requirements during manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing.
- Direct and coordinate the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Stay informed about advancements in electrical engineering and incorporate new technologies and best practices.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software for engineering tasks.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing engineering support to operations, technical support, application development, and sales for design-related issues.
- Engage in schematic capture, electrical component selection, layout supervision, and regulatory certification coordination.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the organization’s continual improvement program to comply with quality management standards.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or a closely related field.
- A minimum of four years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a related area.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, standards, and regulations is advantageous.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is a plus.

Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in electrical design and debugging.
- Strong working knowledge of I/O (PCI) Bus structures and their dependencies.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word for data analysis and reporting.
- Interest in analog circuit design and analysis, with hands-on experience in electronic circuit work.
