JOB SUMMARY:

The role involves supporting the department in achieving corporate objectives, which encompasses high-quality customer order fulfillment and effective inventory management. The individual will be accountable for overseeing and assisting in the execution of corporate category strategies and initiatives within the operational company. This position will also support the sales team with product updates, inquiries, and training sessions on product cutting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement Category Management and other initiatives within designated categories.
  • Ensure the success of categories and overall support for core suppliers.
  • Maintain communication with planners, suppliers, brokers, sales teams, and customer service.
  • Promote local assortment within assigned categories to meet corporate goals.
  • Manage relationships with local suppliers and brokers.
  • Provide guidance and support to sales specialists.
  • Conduct corporate assortment training as needed.
  • Facilitate local supplier reviews and negotiations.
  • Negotiate supplier-funded pricing adjustments.
  • Oversee local Earned Income programs and components.
  • Collaborate with supplier Category Captains or Advisors as necessary.
  • Assist in the inventory depletion process by identifying items for discontinuation.
  • Drive results in focus categories and support promotional activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for local sales and assist with all related issues.
  • Manage the creation of new items and vendors.
  • Enhance Sysco Brand sales.
  • Ensure pricing integrity in collaboration with the Revenue Management team.
  • Provide updates on market commodities and industry news to the sales organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to manage conflicts and reach resolutions effectively.
  • Capability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to drive positive merchandising changes.
  • Strong collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
