About the Role

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Operations Team focused on carbon-free technologies such as Small Modular Reactors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform integrated engineering processes to fulfill project requirements and achieve target dates.
  • Author and review designs, specifications, analyses, and drawings in compliance with engineering principles and applicable standards.
  • Prepare and review design concept drawings for equipment using input from various technical disciplines.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
  • Examine and inspect field conditions, identifying problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures.
  • Inspect subordinates' work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and taking corrective action.
  • Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
  • Manage document control, receiving and logging in new issue drawings and other contract documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university.
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering.
  • Knowledge, application, and understanding of ASME Codes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and capability for producing error-free documents.
  • Knowledge of engineering design practices and principles.
  • Experience with using industry codes to develop equipment design.
