Nuclear Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Design Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our construction design engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing project scoping, developing design contracts, and providing technical oversight of design. You will also conduct field inspections to ensure drawings and specifications meet codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement capital improvement projects, including construction, remodeling, and renovation of buildings and facilities.
- Design and plan mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and architecture systems.
- Conduct preliminary surveys and prepare schematics and work drawings for construction projects.
- Comply with organizational and governmental safety standards.
- Participate in the planning and installation of new facility systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a science-related field.
- Experience with construction and/or design cost estimating.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry and building trade practice, techniques, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer-aided design (CAD) drafting software.
- Competitive salary range: $62,000 - $94,900 annually.
